What is the difference between PRP & PRF?
Platelet Rich Plasma, PRP
PRP is the result of blood spun in a centrifuged at a high speed. This separates the blood into two distinct layers. The red and white blood cells, and stem cells collect at the bottom of the tube and the lighter weight platelets and plasma mixed with the anticoagulant are collected from the top of the tube. PRP is great for treating fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring.
Platelet Rich Fibrin, PRF
PRF is the next-generation PRP! Platelet Rich Fibrin is the result of blood spun in the Centrifuged at a low speed which makes the layers of blood not as distinct as PRP. In doing this, the white blood cells, stem cells (growth factors), platelets and plasma are able to be collected without the anticoagulant additive.
Having those additional elements minus the anticoagulant is what makes PRF much more desirable and effective! Without the anticoagulant, PRF clots under the skin which allows it to release healing hormones for a longer period of time.
Platelet-rich fibrin is a natural alternative to dermal fillers! Like filler, it can be injected to help:
-
Restore volume
-
Restore skin elasticity
-
Even skin texture and tone
-
Soften fine lines and wrinkles
-
Restore hair growth
What conditions can be treated with PRP/PRF Injections?
How does PRF Injections work to rejuvenate the skin?
PRF injections are considered ideal for anyone looking into natural antiaging solutions! Your blood's growth factors create a unique fibrin clotting technology that keeps the PRF in place and allows for a slower release of growth factors. Unlike PRP, PRF does not contain any foreign bodies.
When injected, PRF creates a scaffold underneath the skin. This plumps up the skin and stimulated natural tissue regeneration including the growth of collagen and elastin.
Where can PRP/PRF be injected to rejuvenate the skin?
We can inject PRF just like a dermal filler into the:
-
Cheeks
-
Chin
-
Jawline
-
Nasolabial folds
-
Temporal hollows
-

-
